RSS-to-Push is a simple tool for content blogs and websites. Rich Site Summary, abbreviated as RSS, or sometimes referred to as Really Simple Syndication is a web feed format. It’s a medium for content distribution. Inserting your RSS feed sends a web push notification to your user’s devices automatically- whenever you have a new post uploaded on your website.

In RSS-to-Push, we have the following steps:

This is how the Truepush dashboard appears when you select on RSS-to-Push tab on the left side of the panel.

Enter your Desired RSS Name in the first field. In the RSS link space, insert the RSS feed link of your blog.

For Example:

STEP 2: Delay Notification (In minutes)

This feature delays the notification from going to your user’s devices after your story comes into your RSS Feed.

For example, Let’s say you set Delay Notification by 20 Mins. If you publish an article at 8.30 AM (and assuming your RSS link gets updated immediately). The RSS to Push notification about your new blog will go live on RSS feed by 8.50 AM i.e., after 20 minutes.

STEP 3: Select the Segment

You can choose to send the notifications coming from your RSS Feed to a particular segment. Under the “Select Segment” option, you can either choose an Existing Segment or Create a New One directly from here. (you can check our How-to guide on creating Segments here).

Creating audience segments is the most crucial practice done by companies for maximum re-engagement, retention, and conversion. Read here why audience segmentation is important.

STEP 4: Campaign Interval( In Minutes)

Campaign interval feature helps to set the gap of the mentioned (your input in minutes) time interval while sending two or more notifications consecutively.
It’s very common to publish content frequently. Updating your customers about all your new posts at a single time is not considered an ideal way to inform them. This is why the “campaign interval” option comes handy to solve the problem.

For example, let’s suppose you have published two articles at 8.30 AM and you have set the delay of 60 minutes.

Ideally, both your notifications should go at 9.30 AM. But, if you keep a Campaign Interval of 30 mins. Then the first notification from the RSS link will go at 9.30 AM and the second one at 10:00 AM, i.e., after 30 minutes of sending your first post through the RSS feed.

STEP 5: Campaign Expiry time (In hours)*

The campaign expiry time can be set up to stop the RSS campaigns after a certain time period. The entered value is in hours.

For example, if the entered value is 4, it indicates the RSS campaigns would expire after 4 hours of scheduling. This feature would be useful if the updates are time-sensitive and hold meaning for a specific time interval.

STEP 6: Show Website Icon As Campaign Icon

If you want your Website Icon to be your default Campaign Icon, you can put a tick mark on this option which is just below the option of “campaign interval” as shown in a  highlighted colour here.

STEP 7: User interaction required

This option enables you to set the condition if the RSS campaign would disappear after a subscriber clicks on it or not (irrespective of their browser settings).

For example, if the condition is “ticked”, this indicates, your subscribers need to take the action (closing/opening the notification) for it to disappear from the feed.

STEP 8: RSS Links

You can see the existing RSS links under this option. From the “Action” column, you can  Edit, Pause or delete your existing RSS Segments.

STEP 9: The Priority Of Taking Icon And Featured Image From Your RSS Feed

 7.1 To set an icon on your RSS feed, we follow the below priority order(from the RSS Feed structure)

7.1.1  Rss->channel->item->icon

7.1.2 a) Rss->channel->image
        b)website icon (if a user tick the checkbox while adding the RSS feed)

7.2 To set a Featured Image on your RSS feed, we follow the below priority order(from the RSS Feed structure)
7.2.1  a) Rss->channel->item->image->url
         b) Rss->channel->item->enclosures
         c) Rss->channel->item->media:content

7.2.2 Rss->channel->item->media:thumbunail
7.2.3 Rss->channel->item->thumbunail

For example, in the following, (format 7.2.2) will be used (RSS feed from IndiaGiltz-
